Thank you to all who work at Wisdom Hospice. Not only did you care for our father, but us as a family too. Every single one of you gave our dad peace, comfort and care for the last weeks of his life. We are truly grateful.

Thank you to all of the staff and nurses who looked after my husband Chris in his final weeks, thank you to Julie for guiding us through the palliative care process, to Lewis for organising the equipment, Maxine for her true compassion and care, along with Joy, Charlotte, Megan and Bev for making Chris comfortable in his last days. ❤️

Gerald Lawrence Adamson

Thank you to all the staff that look after Gerry who passed away on 17 July 2026. Though he was only with you for 2.5 days you made is possible for family and friends to spend time with him in the garden. I can’t thank enough.

Florence Ann Bennett

In memory of our wonderful mother, Florence Ann Bennett. Who slipped away 28th December 2025 to be with her beloved husband John. She was cared for at the Wisdom Hospice for 4 weeks and afforded such kindness that meant her passing was with courage and dignity, We miss her terribly but find comfort that her last few weeks were made as comfortable as possible by the wonderful staff at the hospice.

Florence Ann Bennett

Thank you to all the staff who cared for my mother in her last few weeks with us. She passed away 28th December 2025 peacefully in the care of the hospice with her children beside her. She passed with dignity and courage and we will forever be grateful for the care she was afforded by the staff.

William (Billy) Dempsey

Leaving hospital and arriving at the Wisdom Hospital was like leaving hell and arriving in heaven! One was hot, dark, uncaring where Billy had completely given up and the other full of light and love and caring staff who truly wanted to be there. I am choosing to remember Billy the next day when he reached out his arms to me and was my Billy again. We had two really lovely days of love and laughter and on the day before he died I was able to take dog in to snuggle with Billy in the sunshine xx

My step dad Billy Dempsey was only with you for 4 days but in those 4 days you made him feel so special, cared for and loved, you have a brilliant team there and from all of our family we would like to say thank you for everything you did, we will be making sure we do some fundraising for you so that your great work can continue for others, thank you again Steve.

I want to thank all the staff who looked after, not only Liana, but her family and friends. I am so grateful for the love and support every single member of staff gave to us all. I will be looking to do some fundraising in lianas memory for the hospice this year!

David Deeprose

A very belated thank you to all the incredible staff & volunteers at The Wisdom Hospice who cared for my husband David in September this year. You treated David with respect and dignity which is so appreciated; he was quite a reserved, proud man but he loved the banter with the HCAs and more importantly felt safe in your care even when he became frustrated. Nothing can ease the pain and heartbreak of loosing him but knowing that he was so well looked after and felt at peace brings some comfort x

Thank you for treating my mum with so much kindness and care. Nothing was ever too much for you. Your hearts are so big, and it shows in everything you do. The past months have been the worst of my life, but when I think about mum’s time at Wisdom Hospice it actually makes me smile because she was treated like a queen. Thank you <3

You all went above and beyond to ensure that our final days with grandad were as comfortable and special as could be. You truly are a group of very special people and I know I speak for all the family when I say we couldn't be more grateful for everything you did.

Sue

Going back a few years now but Sue, our Community Palliative Care Nurse was incredible. She cared for Dad at home with me, translated the medical jargon, prepared for what was coming and just helped beyond words. She was caring, compassionate and just what we all needed. She not only prepared Dad, she prepared me for the post Dad world and encouraged me to use the counselling service also offered by Wisdom which was the best thing I’ve ever done. Thank you Sue!

Chris Chester

Words cannot express how much gratitude I have for all the staff at the hospice. From going out of their way to help when mum was suffering in hospital, admitting quickly at a weekend, and the care from the moment we arrived. She was so unsettled but within minutes of arriving she was comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed some time on the patio - mum always loved the sun, and staff made a bed for me to sleep beside her. Mum’s time there was short, but she had the best death imaginable. Thank you

Mum was admitted for end of life care in December 2024 and from the moment she was admitted to the moment she passed away, the care and love that everyone showed to us all was amazing. They made sure that we were ok as well as taking care of mum. I don’t like to single anyone out as everyone was amazing but my special thanks has to go to Marie and Colleen who were there when mum passed and offered us so much kindness and compassion. Hopefully staff will remember her as the ‘Chanel No 5’ lady!

Nicki Cooper

Our family are so truly grateful for the love and care shown to Nick- my sister. The staff were truly outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and they all got to know her well since she spent so much time there, going in and out from trips back home. One thing Nicki wanted was for other people to have this sort of 'death' and in lieu of flowers we have raised money to go some small way towards this. The compassion shown at the end of her life was unmeasurable. We are so thankful for you all.

Everyone

I don't think i can say thank you enough for all the care, compassion and empathy that everyone showed my dad when he was an inpatient on the ward and sadly died in February. He was so well looked after that he was able to die in peace and comfortably with all of his family around him. My mum called them angels in disguise and that they are. As a member of staff also, I am so proud to call these wonderful people my colleagues and without them I don't know what I would have done.

Julie Louise Moriarty

From the moment Julie checked in to the moment that Julie decided to check out, the level of care that Julie received from everyone at the hospice was five star and second to none. Nothing was ever too much and the care and respect on show from all the staff was always 10/10. Thank you all so much for taking care of my Julie, I will always hold you all in the highest regard. xx
